What fuel should I use?

Fresh (that is stored for no longer then 4 weeks) unleaded with less than 10% ethanol.

Does my machine require oil or just straight fuel?

First, all engines require oil for lubricating moving internal parts. Information concerning lubrication should be located in the owner's manual.

Generally, all 4-cycle engines require oil separately from the fuel for the moving parts. However, with Hybrid engines Zenoah Strato-Charged units use mix like a two stroke engine.

What oil do I used?

Where ever possible use the oil that is recommended by the manufacturers they have researched what is best for their units. Therefore we recommend Maruyama oil for Maruyama units, Bushranger oil for Bushranger units. Refer to the owners manual for recommendations on what oil to use from the manufacturer

How do I mix the fuel for two stroke engines?

Fuel/oil mixture ratio from past to present can range from 16:1, 20:1, 25:1, 32:1, 40:1, 50:1 up to 100:1. For example, a 50:1 ratio means for every 50 equal parts fuel there is 1 equal part oil.

Due to the inconsistencies in the grade of fuel that there is available and the introduction of ethanol to fuel we recommend a 40:1 fuel mix for brushcutters and a 32:1 fuel mix for chainsaws. Ethanol creates higher operating temperatures in the engine and during the hotter months of the year this could cause the engine to seize. We therefore recommended that regular cooling fin and shroud cleans should be done during regular servicing. It is important to raise the fuel mixtures to alleviate any inconsistencies with improper fuel mix and lack of serving of the cooling system. Refer to you owners manual when unsure. Make sure you refer to and use the manufacturer's recommended fuel to oil ratio for your product.

My unit will not prime with fuel, what can I do?

First, check the fuel level. If that is not the problem, then there may be a rupture in the fuel pick-up line which is not allowing the pump to work correctly or there may be gummy gas fouling the system. You should take your machine to a servicing dealer for repairs
